\n Summer Reading program offers superhero theme\, cool prizes June 1-July 31

\n It&rsquo\;s time to "\;power up"\; your reading skills and earn prizes for participating in the 40th annual Summer Reading Program at the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County. This year&rsquo\;s theme\, Power Up&hellip\;Read!\, offers all sorts of excitement by spotlighting "\;superheroes."\;

\n To kick off a fun season of reading (June 1-July 31)\, ALL Library locations around Hamilton County are holding Summer Reading activities related to this exciting theme on

\n Saturday\, June 1. Children and their families are invited to stop by their neighborhood Library to decorate a superhero mask (while supplies last).

\n Special kickoff events at selected Library locations on June 1:

\n &bull\; Music with Zak Morgan\, 1 p.m. at the Wyoming Branch Library\, 500 Springfield Pike\, 513-369-6014.

\n &bull\; \;The Frisch Marionettes Variety Show\, 2 p.m. at the Delhi Township Branch Library\, 5095 Foley Road\, 513-369-6019.

\n &bull\; Heroes Alliance Ohio featuring superheroes \, 2 p.m. at the Symmes Township Branch Library\, 11850 East Enyart Road\, 513-369-6001.

\n &bull\; The Amazing Portable Circus entertains with juggling\, face painting\, and balloon animals\, 2 p.m. at the Anderson Township Branch Library\, 7450 State Road\, 513-369-6030.

\n And just like our caped crusader friends who have a diverse range of super powers\, you\, too\, can find your niche within the Summer Reading Program. Whether you&rsquo\;re an adult reading to a small child or perusing your favorite magazine or a teen reading a graphic novel or a kid discovering chapter books&mdash\; it all counts! Plus\, there are a variety of ways to read. Download eBooks to your tablet\, listen to audiobooks on your smartphone\, or enjoy having a book in hand.
