DESCRIPTION:An effective\, high-performing Board is the foundation of successful nonprofit organizations. Without this\, an organization cannot develop effective strategies\, be financially sustainable\, or achieve its mission. This workshop details the characteristics of high-performing boards. Appropriate board structure\, membership and processes are presented. It also addresses the importance of each director's independence\, competence and behavior. It deals with the board's focus on critical issues\, its engagement in strategic planning and how it interacts with the Executive Director.\n\nThis session is offered twice.
