SUMMARY:We Are The Majority Rally
DESCRIPTION:Mark Your Calendar to Watch the WATM Rally Online\n\nMay 7\, 2021 at 5 p.m.\n\nThe We Are The Majority (WATM) Rally is a youth-led movement celebrating the fact that the majority of youth do not misuse alcohol\, tobacco or other drugs\, and it shares messages of hope\, inspiration and solidarity with youth across our state. Young people who participate in the WATM Rally learn that it's normal for youth to avoid drinking\, smoking or using other drugs and that they're not alone when they prioritize their health.\n\nCOVID-19 has turned teens' lives upside down\, and mindset matters when youth take back control of their mental health. Mindset matters when teens are cut off from their regular coping mechanisms due to social distancing and school closings. Mindset matters when youth are desperate for escape but are nonetheless committed to using healthy coping mechanisms instead of drugs and alcohol to find relief.\n\n\nDuring the rally\, we'll explore the #MindsetMatters theme and its relationship to behavioral health\, including the importance of coping skills to help young people remain in the majority of youth who don't misuse drugs or alcohol. The rally is hosted by Prevention Action Alliance's Ohio Youth-Led Prevention Network and the Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services.\n\n\n\n \n\nGet Your Watch Party Toolkit!\n\nGet your WATM Rally Watch Party Toolkit filled with rally t-shirts\, an Amazon gift card for snacks and lots of extra cool swag. Gather with your WATM friends and watch the rally. Be sure to sign up by April 16 to get yours kit in time and while supplies last.\n\nSubmit A Healthy Tip Video\n\nThe virtual We Are The Majority Rally 2021 recognizes that #MindsetMatters to the majority of youth who choose not to misuse drugs or alcohol. To celebrate young people's health-positive choices\, send us by April 11 a short video clip of a healthy coping mechanism other youth can use to #BeTheMajority.
