Angela Campos: Building a Strong Multilingual Community at CPS
The Hispanic Chamber of Cincinnati honors Ms. Campos, an ESL Teacher at Carson Elementary. She has worked in several different capacities and schools throughout her career in CPS, including AWL, Roberts, LEAP, and Carson. Angela was delighted to join the Carson staff in the 2023-2024 school year.
Ms. Campos strives to ensure that families feel welcomed and students feel appreciated and safe. She has provided professional development at the school and district levels to ensure students receive appropriate services and support to be successful.
We commend her as a truly impactful teacher. In 2025, she was honored as Educator of the Year by the ELL Foundation of Cincinnati. Ms. Campos brings a genuine passion to her work that is inspirational to her colleagues. Her contributions to the Cincinnati Public Schools’ ESL department and towards the success of her students are both significant and commendable. She has worked hard to create collaborative partnerships with classroom teachers to help them implement high-impact strategies that will benefit all students. Every day, she appreciates the opportunity to work with and advocate for our multilingual learners and their families.
Born in Lansing, Michigan, she graduated with a Bachelor's from the University of Michigan. In 2005, she completed a Master's in Literacy from San Jose State University. In 2001, she started her teaching career as a bilingual elementary teacher in San Jose, California. She relocated to Cincinnati, OH, with her husband in 2005 and began a teaching career with Cincinnati Public Schools.
