Cincinnati Museum Center re-energizes the Energy Zone Children's Museum favorite back in time for Spring Break

WHAT:  One of Cincinnati Museum Center’s most-loved exhibits is opening re-energized March 13. Energy Zone – The Children’s Museum’s plastic ball-raining physics playground – is back after a five-week re-energization project that will introduce new components and supercharge fan favorites. Join us for a first look at the refreshed exhibit. 

Energy Zone brings physics and the science of simple machines to life through pulleys, gears and a cascade of plastic balls, all powered by the exuberant energy of young learners.

New additions include:

• A second Bernoulli Blower that allows balls to float in mid-air
• An Archimedes screw that lifts balls overhead into the Big Bucket
• Revamped vacuum tube with ramps
• Plinko wall for cause-and-effect activity that encourages repeat interaction
• Updated artwork and graphics, including interpretation panels so adults can help kids get the most out of their learning through play experience

Re-energized favorites include:

• Propellers and light-up bike wheels powered by foot and hand pedals
• Updated catapult to launch balls across the exhibit
• Newly-centralized Big Bucket for a more satisfying payoff
