Our hearts are responding to the earthquakes in Venezuela

On Wednesday, June 24th, 2026, a powerful seismic doublet of 7.2- and 7.5-magnitude earthquakes struck Venezuela, off the northern coast and west of Caracas, causing catastrophic infrastructure damage and a massive international response.

As of July 15, 2026, the death toll from twin earthquakes in Venezuela has risen to 4,829. The ‌number of injured in the June 24 quakes was unchanged at 16,740, while 17,907 people remained homeless, according to figures released by top lawmaker Jorge Rodriguez.

On behalf of the Hispanic Chamber Cincinnati USA and the Hispanic Chamber Cincinnati Foundation (HCCUSA Foundation), we extend our heartfelt support to all victims, families, and communities affected by the recent devastating twin earthquakes in Venezuela. The Venezuelan community’s resilience, strength, and heart have been deeply tested.

The Hispanic Chamber Cincinnati USA (HCCUSA) and the Hispanic Chamber Cincinnati Foundation  (HCCUSA Foundation) are committed to supporting the Venezuelan communities during this challenging time.

We have also partnered with Matthew 25 Ministries, the HCCUSA Young Professionals (HCCUSA YP), the LULAC Ohio Educational Foundation, and LULAC Latino Young Professionals for a volunteer event on Saturday, July 25th, 2026, at Matthew 25 Ministries, 11060 Kenwood Rd, Blue Ash, OH 45242, to prepare essential supplies for families in need, including humanitarian aid for Venezuela.
