The HCCUSA Foundation successfully held a Virtual Artificial Intelligence Workshop for families

Cincinnati (June 22, 2026) Bilingual News: On Friday, June 19, the Hispanic Chamber Cincinnati Foundation (HCCUSA Foundation) presented a Virtual Artificial Intelligence (AI) Workshop for Families in collaboration with EducaT Family LLC, Cincinnati AI Week, and Cincinnati AI Catalyst.

The workshop was prepared by Maribel Cortes—representing the Hispanic Chamber Cincinnati Foundation’s Education Pillar and as the owner of EducaT Family—with contributions from Yessenia Natalie Alcala (Printología) and Hazel Planchart (a member of the Hispanic Chamber Cincinnati Young Professionals group).

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a technology that enables computers to learn, reason, and solve problems—much like a human does—but it is important to understand how this technology works and how it is transforming the economy, education, and daily life. During the workshop, participants learned about the benefits and available tools AI offers; they engaged with practical examples of how it can be used at home and for academic success, as well as the correct and incorrect ways to use it—specifically, how to do so honestly, safely, responsibly, and cautiously.

“AI is constantly evolving; unlike traditional software, which remains static, it is a transformative technology advancing by leaps and bounds. That is why our families cannot afford to be left behind; staying up-to-date is essential. The HCCUSA Foundation, EducaT Family, Cincinnati AI Week, and Cincinnati AI Catalyst believe that every family deserves the tools to reach their full educational potential, and we hope to offer more virtual or in-person training workshops,” explains Maribel Cortes.

El pasado viernes 19 de junio, la Hispanic Chamber Cincinnati Foundation presentó un Taller Virtual de Inteligencia Artificial (IA) para Familias en colaboración con EducaT Family LLC, Cincinnati AI Week y Cincinnati AI Catalyst. 

El taller, preparado por Maribel Cortes, Hispanic Chamber Cincinnati Foundation - Education Pillar y propietaria de EducaT Family, con la contribución de Yessenia Natalie Alcala, Printología y Hazel Planchart, miembro del grupo YP - Hispanic Chamber Cincinnati Young Professionals.

La inteligencia artificial (IA) es una tecnología que permite a las computadoras aprender, razonar y resolver problemas — de forma similar a como lo hace un ser humano — pero se debe conocer cómo funciona esta tecnología y cómo está transformando la economía, la educación y el día a día. En el taller, los participantes conocieron los beneficios y las herramientas disponibles que ofrece; participaron con ejemplos prácticos de cómo se puede usar en la casa y para el éxito académico, y el uso correcto e incorrecto, como hacerlo en forma honesta, segura, responsable y con precaución.

“La IA está en evolución continua; a diferencia del software tradicional, que se mantiene estático, es una tecnología transformadora que avanza a pasos agigantados. Es por esto que nuestras familias no pueden quedarse atrás; actualizarse continuamente es esencial. La HCCUSA Foundation, EducaT Family, Cincinnati AI Week y Cincinnati AI Catalyst creen que cada familia merece las herramientas para alcanzar su máximo potencial educativo y esperamos poder ofrecer más talleres virtuales o presenciales de capacitación.”, explica Maribel Cortes.
